We had five lovely guests whom travelled from all over Australia to fish the Great Barrier Reef on board Zulu last weekend. Unfortunately the weather was forecasted at 25-30 knots and raining for the majority of the weekend, luckily we have a Seakeeper Gyro on board which allowed our guests to enjoy the steady comforts of Zulu regardless of the weather conditions.

We departed The Reef Marina in Port Douglas and headed north to St Crispins Reef, Escape Reef and a few others where we were able to find some protection and did a mix of trolling for Spanish Mackerel and bottom fishing for table fish. Although the weather was unforgiving, there were plenty of fish showing on the sounder and the omni-directional sonar. The mackerel were quiet however we caught a good mix of reef fish including Red Emperor, Coral trout and Trevally.

Our guests had a fantastic time and left with some great new memories and are already planning their next trip on board Zulu Game fishing Charters.

Until next time… tight lines!
